We absolutely LOVE to eat when we go to Disney World. That’s not for everyone. A very common tactic to saving money on a Disney World trip is to actually not buy food in the parks, or to do so very minimally. That doesn’t work for us. We really love to eat in each of the parks (Snack Around the World in EPCOT, etc.). Though this is one of our priorities, we’re not a fan of spending too much on food. In Magic Kingdom in particular, we’re picky about sit-down (i.e. Table Service) restaurants. We’re mostly into snacking. Since we’ve been visiting Disney together, we’ve each collected a bunch of different favorites. This post outlines some of our favorite things to eat in Magic Kingdom.
Breakfast Food in Magic Kingdom
There’s nothing quite like rope-dropping Magic Kingdom. After you scan your magic band and get the mandatory picture in front of the castle, it’s time for food! We’ve pretty consistently felt that breakfast in the Magic Kingdom could use a little love; there aren’t very many options. It’s one of the many reasons we find ourselves going back to book the breakfast buffet at the Crystal Palace. It’s just one of the most effective ways to fuel up before a full park day. When we’re not sitting down for breakfast, our go-to recommendations for breakfast would either be the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich from the Golden Oak Outpost or the infamous cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern.
The breakfast sandwich was HUGE and delicious. The jalapeno strawberry jam with sweet with just a little bit of a kick to it. The portions of both chicken and egg were very large, and for me, I felt like I just needed one or the other. Having both meant it was a very shareable breakfast, especially with the tots as well. At $10.49, it was well worth the cost.

Same sort of idea (huge portion), but with a completely different vibe would be the Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern. When you walk into the Quick Service location, you won’t be able to ignore the overwhelming smell of baked goods and cinnamon. So tasty. You can definitely share the treat with at least one other person before hopping into line for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Bonus if you also get a cup of LeFou’s Brew!

All Day Snacks
After breakfast, eating at the Magic Kingdom is a little like the Wild West. Want some ice cream? Have some. Popcorn? Knock yourself out. Eat whatever you want to eat till you’re ready to head out. The rest of our favorites are divided into savory and sweet categories.
Savory Food in Magic Kingdom
First and foremost, and one Nicole’s all-time favorites, are any of the spring rolls at the Spring Roll cart found near the entrance to Adventureland. Each and every time we visit the Magic Kingdom, Nicole gets spring rolls. She’s tried a bunch of different flavors up until now, too! Her favorite was actually the Celebration Spring Roll that they had during the 50th celebration. It was pastrami and pepper jack cheese! The cheeseburger spring rolls are a classic for a reason. She’s also tried the reuben and pepperoni pizza spring rolls!

Next up with the corn dog nuggets from Casey’s Corner. Again, these are super shareable and well worth the price. They’re also really nice when you don’t commit to one of those crazy (but delicious-looking) foot-long hot dogs!

Sweet Food in Magic Kingdom
Everyone loves the classic Dole Whip. If you’re unfamiliar, this is a staple dessert across Disney World. In its classic form, it’s a dairy-free pineapple frozen dessert. It comes in many different iterations and can be swirled with a vanilla or coconut soft serve. While Liz likes the classic Dole Whip, her favorite is actually the orange flavor. Specifically, she likes the Orange Dole Whip swirled with a vanilla soft serve for a creamsicle kind of vibe. You can get them at both Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle in Adventureland. It’s perfect on a hot summer day!

You also can’t go wrong with a classic Mickey ice cream bar. This is one of Nicole’s favorites and she definitely has one on every Disney trip, and she has to have in Magic Kingdom.

Conclusion
With the exception of breakfast at the Crystal Palace, we really don’t take advantage of Table Service options at the Magic Kingdom. We’ve read wonderful things about the Skipper’s Canteen, and the new menu at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant looks fun. Taking that much time out of our Magic Kingdom park days has never felt worth it, especially since there’s so many tasty (faster) options across the whole park.
