Every time we make plans to go to Disney World, somehow or other, we always end up eating breakfast at The Crystal Palace. It’s funny because there’s really no shortage of food options at the Magic Kingdom. We took some time to think about it and we think there’s a bunch of good reasons we always find ourselves there, and it’s more than just the chance to see Winnie the Pooh. We really do feel it’s the best breakfast at Magic Kingdom!
Arriving at The Crystal Palace
If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you know that a ton of attention and detail goes into each and every attraction, experience, and attraction. The Crystal Palace is no exception. Inspired by the 1851 London exhibition, this place is adorable. Super bright and full of windows, it just feels warm and welcoming. One of its main draws is “Friendship Day,” which is the theme of the character dining experience with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet wandering around to visit tables. We’ve heard that Rabbit also occasionally makes an appearance, but we’ve yet to meet them!

Once you’ve arrived at the restaurant (hang a left off of Main Street instead of heading straight to the castle), you’ll either check-in at the podium or using the My Disney Experience app. We opted with the app for ease. Once you’re table’s ready (it was maybe 10 minutes after we checked in, and only 5 minutes after our reservations time), someone will call for your party and you’ll be escorted into the entry way. You’ll be met by lush greenery, open air space, and lots of natural light. After being taken to your table, the waiter will take your drink order and folks can order coffee, juice, and/or alcoholic beverages. Their mimosas are great! If you’re on the dining plan, one alcoholic beverage per 21+ adult is included in a Table Service dining credit.
The Best Breakfast at Magic Kingdom
While we’ve only had the breakfast buffet at The Crystal Palace and the lunch buffet at the Biergarten Restaurant, we can share that the food is exceptional. You’ve got classic options like Mickey waffles (of course), bacon, eggs, muffins, and yogurt.
If you’re prioritizing breakfast at The Crystal Palace, the churro waffles are amazing. We thought they’d be overrated, but seriously, they live up to the hype. Absolutely delicious.

Character Interactions: Pooh & Friends
While you make multiple trips and back-and-forth from the buffet, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger wander around visit all of the tables. They’re spaced out pretty evenly with time in between each visit. If Tigger just left your table, you’ll have time for another trip to the buffet before Piglet arrives. Be sure to have your autograph books out and ready to make things easier for everyone though. You can expect to spend an hour to an hour and half in the restaurant if you want to see all 4 characters. This is what others have shared from their experiences, but that has not been our experience. We usually see all 4 characters within 45 minutes or so. We’ve actually had early breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace and finished with enough time to rope drop Peter Pan’s Fantasy Flight!

During previous visits, the characters will also do a little “parade” around the restaurant and invite all the littles to march around the tables with them. We did not see this parade during our reservation in November 2025 though.
Pricing Details & Value
We definitely want to emphasize here that meals at The Crystal Palace are a splurge. The breakfast buffet was (November 2025) $54 per adult and $35 per child (ages 3-9). Lunch and dinner buffets were $64 per adult and $44 per child (ages 3-9).
While we’ve never had the interest to try lunch or dinner, you can technically “hack” the system by reserving a 10:30AM reservation for breakfast pricing, but have access to lunch options that roll out at 11:00AM. You’ve save some money and, in theory, have the chance to try everything.
Why We Keep Going Back
Here’s why we think the Crystal palace offers the best breakfast at Magic Kingdom.
- The Best Photos: You can make a breakfast reservation for as early as 8:00AM. Magic Kingdom doesn’t open until 9:00AM to the public (8:30AM for early entry folks). This means you can get the BEST pictures in front of the castle before breakfast. We especially love doing this on the first day of our vacation.
- Starting the Day Off Right: A Disney World vacation means A LOT of walking. We think there’s a lot of benefit to a big, hearty breakfast before a long park day. This is especially great when visiting Disney with a large, multi-generational group.
- Nostalgia & Avoiding a Line: We both really love Winnie the Pooh, and we’re hoping to pass that love on to Skippy. In our experience, the Winnie the Pooh character lines in the park tend to be a little long. Dining with Pooh and friends means they come right to us!
